Pen not Penis

childbride

Yesterday while browsing through my news feed, I saw this disturbing picture of a little girl who had just been sold out to a pedophile in the name of marriage. I found it as disturbing as I found it ridiculous that in this present age, people still give their little girls out in marriage at such tender age. I don’t want to start playing the feminism card right now, but at least we can all look at this in the aspect of common sense.
Does it even make sense?

Someone might want to blame this on poverty, but let’s imagine that the father of this child is poorer than “the olden-days’ church rat”, and sees his children as a means of making ends meet. While he must have sent his sons to the field to go and farm or do some kind of manual labor for a little pay, why didn’t he do the same to his little girl? Why reduce her into an object of sexual gratification, hence selling her out to a bidder?

Does someone want to blame this one illiteracy? Okay, we are together on that one but it doesn’t justify this. this is wickedness, and we all need to come together, despite our beliefs and religion, to condemn this.

This girl’s future holds a bright light. But let me tell you what would happen.

This old man would take her home, he would take her into his room. He would look at her, her tenderness and naivety would flash him in the face.  In her, he would see a replica of his little daughters who is within the same age. Fear and trauma would be written all over the little girl’s face. He would then gulp down a bottle of local gin, and a little more. His conscience would die.

He would then find her meaty, find her sumptuous, a delicacy made for the gods. He would straddle her. Putting all his weight on her. The stench of kola-nut and alcohol oozing from his mouth would make her stomach churn as his big thick black lips come upon hers.

She would cry, put up a little resistance. But he is stronger. He always would be. Then he would invade her. He would rape her.

Tears…. Blood…. More tears…. The light of the future becomes bleak.

But back at home, her father would have bought a grass cutter and some ice fish. Its been a long time since the family had a decent meal, but all thanks to the bride price, they would be able to afford fish and meat again. At least for a while…. Until the next baby girl would be sold in to sex slavery.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Iran last two years, a child bride was sentenced to death for killing her pedophile husband.

Because she was too young to be executed, her execution was put on hold till she gets up to age. She’s up to adult age now, and sometime this week, she would be executed by hanging. The state of Iran would kill a girl child for defending herself.

And the world would still be watching.

Man arrested for raping foreigner

A 34-year-old man, Fabian Anyanwu, who allegedly
assaulted and raped a 22-year-old Cameroonian lady, on

the car, Anyanwu refused to stop but took her to his house.
“The lady said that the accused beat her up and also had

The complainant said that it was Anyanwu’s neighbours
who invited the police when they heard her screaming, ” the
